We kept the fire rolling all night, but the bugs seemed to calm down a bit as the sun sank in the sky. Just when I had had enough of the bugs and was about to called it a night, Andrew got down on one knee. I, of course, assumed he had stooped down to hug the dog. When he stared at me in the dark for an unusually long time I knew something was up. Finally, he opened the box, which had a light inside, and popped the question! I said yes, and then realized we'd have to now come back to this bug paradise each year to reminisce. We both agreed car camping would suffice for future Bon Echo visits.
It still hadn't hit me on the hike back out, despite the fact that I was wearing far too much bling for the woods, but once we got to the car and told our families and friends, it all became a bit more real. We are very excited to take this next step, and it was in the most perfect way, doing one of my most favorite things. We are planning a late summer wedding for 2017 on Vancouver Island, BC.
